Traditional contact forms were appropriate when the internet was new and asynchronous communication was expected, but they have become outdated in a world where people are used to instant messaging and AI chat. Modern users prefer sending quick messages rather than composing formal emails or filling long forms. They also expect answers in seconds, not in 24 hours. As a result, contact forms now feel as outdated as using fax in a digital environment. When we keep relying solely on forms, we risk losing a large share of potential customers—often around 85% of visitors abandon before submitting. The relevant strategic question is not whether we should eventually replace forms with more conversational solutions but how long we can afford to keep losing such a high proportion of potential customers.
