What are the Customer’s GDPR responsibilities as Data Controller
When using our services, the Customer acts as the Data Controller for all personal data processed as part of the service, as defined by Article 4(7) of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). As Data Controller, the Customer is responsible for: (1) ensuring that there is a lawful basis for processing all personal data included in the Customer Data; (2) configuring the service in compliance with the Customer’s own privacy policy; (3) ensuring that the use of the service complies with the GDPR and any other relevant data privacy regulations; and (4) ensuring that any use of third-party systems or chat clients to consume our APIs is compliant with GDPR and respects Data Subject rights. The Customer must ensure overall GDPR compliance for how Customer Data is collected, input into the service, and integrated with external systems.
